Port Blair, Dec 31: Nai Manzil (NGO) headed by P. Abdul Basheer a social worker as on 30th December 2021 at Nayapuram celebrated the “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” in remembrance of the first flag hoisted by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on the same day back in 1943. The event was well received by the locals who attended with full fervour. A total of more than 100 senior citizen who attended the event were felicitated by presenting shawls. Mr. Mohammed sameer, SHO, Bamboo flat police station was the chief guest and on this occassion he emphasised on the importance of organizing such an event and extended his gratitude to the organizer. Dr. Megha Baidhya, PSC, Wimberly Gunj and Mr. Saran Singh, a social activist from Port Blair attended the event as guest of honour.
