
Port Blair, Dec 19: A Seminar on awareness on TB was organised by Ministry of Women and Child Development recently, which was jointly presided by the Vice President of India and Hon’ble Loksabha speaker. While the Ministers for women and child Development and Health and Family Welfare ensures bringing effectiveness to the actions pertaining to Gender- Responsive to TB care, through joint efforts of both the ministries . Since both the statutory bodies viz NCW (National Commission for Women) and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) are responsible for safeguarding the rights of women and children (upto 18 years) and thereby improving their overall economic and social conditions respectively.
Andaman Nicobar UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights Member Smti Sampa Banerjee participated in the conference held at Vigyan Bhavan,New Delhi on 16th December 2021. The National Conference was addressed by the Vice President of India Shri M Venkaiah Naidu, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri Mansukh Mandaviya and the Minister of Women and Child Development Smti Smriti Zubin Irani on women winning against Tuberculosis, in-order to spread awareness about TB among women and societal stigma they go through while battling the disease.
