Port Blair, Dec. 14: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA), has launched a nationwide Swachh Technology Challenge as part of the Azadi @75 Swachh Survekshan 2022, under the Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban 2.0 on 6th December, 2021, in order to promote an enabling environment for enterprise development in the waste management sector. The Challenge aims to capitalize on the skills and expertise the space to find cost-effective and implementable technology solutions that can be adopted and replicated at scale across urban India.
As per the challenge toolkit, 04 basic thematic areas for challenge viz, Social inclusion, Zero dump, Plastic Waste Management, Transparency in solid waste management & sanitation and any other. Top 03 solutions across the country will be felicitated with an award in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 Award ceremony. The competition will be assessed at City level, the best submission will be recommended for State UT Level assessment and the best 03 State/ UT level entries will be recommended for National Level assessment
The Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) invites City & State Level innovative solutions on solid waste & sanitation related issues from individuals, startups, companies, academic institutions, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The last date of receipt of online entries is 31st December, 2021 and the best 05 selected proposals will be awarded as per the recommendations of Selection Committee at Urban Local Body Level (Port Blair Municipal Council) & same will be forward to the State Level for selecting best 03 nominations to recommend at National level. The results for the ULB level challenge will be announced on 6th January, 2022.
