
Port Blair, Dec 14: The Matua Community of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has expressed gratitude to Mr Subrata Thakur, Maha Sanghadhipati and Mr Shantanu Thakur, Sanghadhipati of All India Matua Maha Sangha (AIMMS), Thakur Nagar, Thakur Bari, West Bengal and Minister of State, Govt. of India, for appointing Mr Sudhir Biswas, son of Late Manindra Nath Biswas, resident of Prothrapur as Chief Convener of of Matua Religious Community of Andaman & Nicobar Islands (ANI).
Four other persons have also been appointed as Deputy and Joint Conveners in October this year for the upliftment and welfare of the Matua Community with enrichment of mutualism and ideology of Matua religious in these islands. Mr Binoy Krishna Sarkar of Shaheed Dweep has been appointed as Deputy Convener, while Mr Harasit Jaidhar of Chouldari, Mr Haridas Biswas of Tugapur and Mr Mrinal Chandra Halder of Billyground have been appointed as Joint Conveners.
AIMMS is a non Political Matua Religious Organization and a religious, social, economic and cultural organization. “On behalf of the peoples and devotes of Matua community of these islands, we congratulate Mr Sudhir Biswas and his teams on the appointments. We hope under the leadership of the persons, the Matua religious and Matua community will be enriched in these islands,” said Mr Mahananda Gomastha, President/Secretary of Shri Shri Guru Chand Mission, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
