Port Blair, Dec 05: People of several villages of Middle Andaman region have expressed deep anguish for not getting LPG Cylinders even after a gap of three months.
As per information received affected villages include Swadeshnagar, Duke Nagar, Thoratang, Shantipur, Billiground, Harinagar, Pinakinagar, Kamlapur, Jaipur, Nimbudera, Pareshnagar, Govindapur, Prafullya Nagar and Basantipur.
Villagers told Andaman Sheekha that they are in trouble because they are not getting LPG Cylinders for the last three months. “In most of the houses both the cylinders are empty now there is no one to give a filled cylinder. How we are supposed to cook,” questioned a villager.
As per source after 3 months, today two trucks of LPG cylinders reached the region but there was a limited number of cylinders against huge demands of the consumers.
According to the public it became difficult for police jawans to maintain law and order situation in many places due to the rush for LPG cylinders among villagers.
Some villagers told Andaman Sheekha that they won’t allow any LPG truck to reach North Andaman from tomorrow until all customers get LPG cylinder in Middle Andaman region.
When contacted an official of CCS told Andaman Sheekha that soon the problems of shortage of LPG cylinders will be resolved in Middle Andaman region.
