Port Blair, Nov 02: South Andaman District Police observed ‘Police Commemoration Week’ in a befitting manner to remember the brave policemen who had sacrificed their lives while discharging their duties. To spread awareness about it, the District Police organized various activities/events from 21st October to 31th October, 2021. As part of this, online essay competitions were organized by various Police Stations for school students as well as wards of Police personnel on the topic “Role of Police in Nation building”. A large numbers of students from different schools/areas participated in the event and penned down their thoughts and observations about the role of Police in order to build the nation and to protect the society.
On 02nd of November, 2021, all the winners of the online essay competition were facilitated by giving medals and certificates. During the interaction with the students, emphasis was given on the importance of Police Commemoration Day and encouraged them to join the Police force to give their valuable service to the nation as well as to the citizens.
