Port Blair, Oct 06: A 14 year old boy of Small Lapathy village of Car Nicobar died of drowning in sea off Lapathy Beach of the Island. According to reports members of a family of Small Lapathy village went to Lapathy Beach for swimming on 03rd October 2021.
As per details while swimming three people drifted away due to strong current and high waves after which villagers tried to rescue them. Sources said that villagers could manage to rescue only two people while a 14 year old boy could not be rescued who drowned in sea.
Immediately matter was reported to Police while the rescued people were shifted to BJR Hospital Car Nicobar.
Soon Police team of PS Car Nicobar and villagers started search operation. Later, same day night some villagers spotted a dead body of the boy, floating in seashore area. The body was immediately recovered by police and was shifted to BJR hospital. Police team has registered a case under appropriate sections, further details are awaited.
