Port Blair, Oct 05: Pankh Andaman with District Child Protection Unit (SA) initiated a book bank and a stationary bank for the children in Balika Niketan on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. This book bank also acts as a small library for the children with a variety of books and also a stationery bank where they can get all the necessary stationery item at their disposal. The Chief Guest for the inauguration of the book bank and stationary bank was Mr. Suneel Anchipaka,IAS, District commissioner, South Andaman and Mr. Hari Kallikat ,IAS, SDM, South Andaman. Mr. Suneel Anchipaka also said on the importance of books in the life of a human being. A special yoga session was also conducted by yoga expert Mrs Rajni Ahuja. This was a refreshing session for the children. President, Komal Anand and members Suchitra Maheshwari and Disha Kurup were also encouraged the mothers to donate books and stationery items for these books banks.
