Port Blair, Sept 21: The Hon’ble JMFC court, Mayabunder has convicted a resident of Billiground for assaulting on-duty police officer.
The prosecution version of the case is that the convict was creating nuisance and police team of PS Billiground reached the place of occurrence after getting information. When the police asked the convict to come out from his house, he started abusing the police team with filthy languages and thereafter suddenly the convict came out from his house with “daw” and attacked the complainant (police) as a result the said police officer suffered bleeding injury on his right thigh.
On the basis of written complaint, the instant case was registered as Billiground P.S FIR No. 59 of 2015. On taking into account of entire evidence, the Hon’ble Court found that the prosecution has proved its case beyond all reasonable doubts.
The Hon’ble Court presided by Shri. Vikramjit Sen, Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate First Class, North & Middle Andaman, Mayabunder has found the accused namely Shri. Ratan Minj S/o Late Yusuf Minj R/o Swadesh Nagar guilty for the offences punishable under section 324/332/353/504/506 of IPC and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for the period of one year with fine.
The entire case was investigated by SI/ C. Manivannan under the guidance of SI/ Aditya Narayan, former SHO, PS Billiground and the prosecution case was conducted by Shri. Pradeep Ram, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor, Mayabunder.
