Port Blair, Sep 13: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh informed today that seven flights with 1078 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that among passengers who arrived yesterday (Sunday), no passenger was found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary IP&T further informed that 269 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which two persons were found COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 113 passengers departing for Shaheed Dweep islands were also tested today in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 103 persons arrived from Swaraj Dweep today in which all were found COVID-19 negative. Further the Secretary informed that at Mohanpura Bus stand 205 RAT was conducted in which one person was found COVID-19 positive and at Helipad total 06 persons were tested in which all found COVID-19 negative.
“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 99 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)” and from Hope town jetty a passenger vehicle was also departed in which 48 persons were tested, he said.
The Secretary IP&T further urged all the islanders to follow COVID appropriate behavior (CAB) strictly.
“Today a total of 335 doses of vaccine were provided to eligible beneficiaries in which 246 were of 18-44 year age group at JNRM Vaccination Center,” he added.
Later, Dr. A K Mondal, the Director ANIIMS informed that at GB Pant Hospital today three COVID-19 positive patients got admitted; altogether 04 patients are there at GB Pant Hospital. Whereas today no asymptomatic patient got admitted at Covid Care Center, he added.
