Port Blair, Sep 03: The Director of IP&T, Mr. Kamlesh Kumar, (DANICS) today informed that four flights with 687 passengers arrived at Port Blair Airport this morning and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR tests are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that passengers who arrived yesterday (Thursday), two passengers were found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 287 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning from Port Blair to Shaheed Dweep, altogether 56 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and at Mohanpura Bus stand 161 RAT test were conducted in which all were found COVID-19 negative and at Helipad total 07 persons were tested in which all found COVID-19 negative.
“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 155 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)”, he said.
“Today altogether 221 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 187 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.
Later Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital today one COVID-19 patient is admitted who is on oxygen support and one got discharged today. Whereas today no asymptomatic patient got admitted at Covid Care Center, he added.
