Port Blair, Aug 16: Mr. R Alager Swamy, Ex UpAdhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad has demanded change in quarantine rules in N & M Andaman District to promote Tourism.
In a letter addressed to Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, the Deputy Commissioner NMA, the ex UpAdhyaksh expressed his gratitude to the entire District Administration of NMA for very professionally managing the COVID-19 situation during the second wave.
“Your visits to all parts of District during this pandemic time have yielded fruitful results, now that we have achieved zero active cases status in Andaman and Nicobar Islands it is time that some activities in tourism needs to be commenced so that the individuals attached to that field may earn something for livelihood following all COVID-19 protocols,” ex UpAdhyaksh added.
He further demanded that for the same the applicable quarantine rules require to be modified so that the tourists can visit the Islands.
