Port Blair, August 16: Two Police Constables, on patrolling duty in Aberdeen Area, were allegedly attacked by one person following a scuffle. The incident took place yesterday at around 8.00 PM, when both police jawans spotted Mr.Kanna, who already has few cases registered against him. The police jawans spotted Mr. Kanna standing under suspicious circumstances near Fisheries Jetty.
When police team stopped him and interrogated him, Mr. Kanna reportedly threatened both police jawans and suddenly brought out a sharp weapon and tried to attack police Jawans. One Jawan reportedly sustained injuries in this incident while, Mr. Kanna managed to run away from the spot.
Later the matter was intimated to the Police Station after which the injured police jawan was taken to G B Pant Hospital for treatment. Further a case was registered under relevant sections against the accused, who was absconding till last reports obtained. Further updates are awaited.
