Port Blair, Aug 13: The Member of Parliament has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to release of funds for Muslim Educational Society School (MES) and Nirmala Schools as due to shortage of funds teachers of these schools have not been paid salary for nearly last six months. Muslim Educational Society School (MES) and Nirmala Schools are government aided schools and depends largely upon Administration’s funding.
The Member of Parliament added that many these staffs are the lone bread earner for their family. Due to non-payment of monthly salary they are unable to pay the rent for rented accommodation, to meet expenses for the treatment of their old aged parents and running pillar to post to fulfill their day to day expenses.
He further pointed out that some of these teachers have availed loan from the bank for various purposes and now unable to pay the EMI on time. Till now they have borrowed money from relatives and friends to meet the requirements. They are totally under pressure due to the present financial crisis especially during this pandemic situation.
Hence on humanitarian ground the Member of Parliament requested early release the funds for Muslim Educational Society School (MES) and Nirmala Schools.
