Port Blair, Jul 19: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today informed that altogether two flights with 323 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing a COVID-19 media briefing in the conference hall of IP&T, the Secretary further pointed out that yesterday (Sunday) three passengers were found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary further informed that 211 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which one was tested COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“No case of Delta variant of COVID-19 was found in Andaman and Nicobar Islands so far”, the Secretary pointed out.
About vaccination drive the Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that total 741 beneficiaries got vaccinated today among which 376 people were of 45 and above age group who got their second dose of vaccine and 360 people were of 18-44 age group who got their first dose of vaccine at JNRM vaccination Center, South Andaman.
Later the Director ANIIMS, Dr. A K Mondal further said that at GB Pant Hospital altogether 06 patients are admitted in which two patients got admitted today and one patient got discharge. No patient is on oxygen support and on ventilator.
