Port Blair, Jul 15: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today informed that altogether two flights with 359 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing a COVID-19 media briefing in the conference hall of IP&T, the Secretary further pointed out that yesterday (Saturday) three passengers were found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary further informed that 245 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which one was tested COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today there was no vaccination drive conducted in South Andaman”, the Secretary added.
The Secretary Mr. Singh further pointed out that number of cases in some other states have been started arising which is a matter of concern for us and Andaman and Nicobar Islands should not face third wave of pandemic, people should be more cautious. He further urged to all the islanders to strictly follow COVID Appropriate Behavior and avoid unnecessary movement.
After so much of restrictions and prevention Andaman and Nicobar Administration has brought the Covid situation under control and now also people have to follow all the guidelines to maintain the situation” he added.
Later the Director ANIIMS, Dr. A K Mondal further said that at GB Pant Hospital altogether 05 patients are admitted in which one patient is on oxygen support and no patient is on ventilator.
