
Port Blair, July 11: Anthropological Survey of India, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre, Port Blair celebrated 72nd Van Mahotsav 2021 in collaboration with Forest Extension and Publicity Division under Department of Environment and Forest, Andaman Administration, on 10th June 2021 at 10:00 am by planting trees in its office premises.
Dr. Nilanjan Khatua, Head of Office, AnSI ANRC Port Blair and other staff of the office along with Mr. Ayub Hasan (IFS) DFO Forest Extension and Publication Division Mr., Ismail Kujur, Forest Ranger, Mr. Koria Kose, Forest Ranger, Mr. Giri Raju, Forester, and Smt. Shalini Raj, Forester along with other staff of the forest department were present on the occasion and also planted trees.
Van Mahotsav is a celebration of the creation of new life. The main aim of this Van Mahotsav is to sensitize about conservation of forest and spread awareness among the public and encourage them to plant more and more trees to save our environment. The COVID- 19 related SOP guidelines is followed during the entire programme.
