Port Blair, May 28: A joint team of Andaman and Nicobar Police and IRBn has been able to apprehend nine Myanmarese poachers from Barren Island and all the poachers were brought to Port Blair yesterday.
Earlier on 2nd May 2021, Coast Guard had apprehended four Myanmarese poachers for fishing illegally in Indian waters off the Barren Island. The Coast Guard had then said that some more poachers had managed to enter inside Barren Island for which joint teams of A & N Police and IRBn were formed. The team conducted combing operation in Barren Island and finally managed to arrest these nine poachers.
