Port Blair, May 02: The Deputy Commissioner of N & M Andaman today said that the District Administration has taken various stringent measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus in the District.
Talking to media the Deputy Commissioner today said that as of now the passengers who were standard in N & M Andaman were given one-time- permission for movement to South Andaman and arrangements were made as per requirements.
“We are making sure that there should not be any scarcity of essential supplies viz LPG Cylinders, Petrol & Diesel etc. in the N & M Andaman District. Any kind of hoardings or black marketing under present circumstance is punishable,” she warned.
The DC appealed all the citizens that they should extend their cooperation with Administration and strictly follow all the guidelines issued by Administration as well as the Government of India. Eligible people should get vaccination as soon as possible, she added.
The mentioned that the District Administration is keeping close eye on people who are in Home Quarantine and making sure that there is no violation so that there is no spread of COVID-19 infection.
The DC of NMA said that all the essential shops will be opened for islanders and therefore people must avoid travelling for goods and if Islanders are facing shortage of any item they can report about the same in District control room.
