Nibudera, Jan 29: V Krishna, Forester of Betapur Range was today attacked by one of his own labourer. According to Mr. V Krishna the incident happened this afternoon when Mr. Krishna asked one of his Forest Labourers to reach at a location inside Nimbudera Forest after he received a tip off regarding illegal extraction of timber.
“The labourer reached late and when I asked him about the delay he started abusing me saying that I have spoiled his Sunday. He was under heavy influence of liquor. Suddenly he brought out a ‘Dah’ (Chopper) and attacked me. I got injuries on my head,” Krishna, the Forester told Andaman Sheekha.
The injured Forester was soon rushed to the nearby Billyground PHC by one of the Forest Guards, where his condition is believed to be stable. Till late evening no officer from Betapur Range office visited the Billyground PHC to meet the injured Forester. When Andaman Sheekha correspondent contacted the Ranger of Betapur Ranger the polite reply was, “I know what to be done. You can do whatever you want.”
“I am getting series of threat calls from an unknown number. The caller is warning me with dire consequences if I lodge a complaint in Police Station. The caller claims to be a constable of Fire Services, posted at Campbell Bay,” the injured Forester told Andaman Sheekha today.
