Sheekha Bureau Report
Baratang, Jan 29: The Panchayati Raj Institute members of Baratang area have cried foul over the attitude of Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Oralkatcha for allegedly showing disrespect to Republic Day function of Baratang, which is conducted at Nilambur Forest Ground every year.
According to the Pradhan of the area, every year the Oralkatcha School management plays a major role in Republic Day function of Baratang by sending cultural troupes and other teams but this year the Principal had reportedly refused to depute any team for the Republic Day function of Baratang.
“During the recent strikes in the school a few months back the PRI members of the area had supported the students and demanded action against a Physical Education Teacher. The Principal was under tremendous pressure because of the PRI members’ involvement, perhaps this is how the Principal has decided to take revenge from the PRI members and villagers of Barantant,” Mr. Biju Gurudasan the Pradhan of Sundargarh Village told Andaman Sheekha today.
The DFO, who is incharge of the Republic Day Programme in Baratang has taken serious note of this issue and will also be sending an official complaint soon.
“To take further revenge the Principal took another cruel step of prohibiting entry of villagers and even parents inside the Government Senior Secondary School Oralkatcha on Saraswati Puja Day. This is a tradition in Baratang area that all villagers participate in Saraswati Puja of Government Senior Secondary School Oralkatcha School and get blessings but this year all devotees were not allowed to enter inside the school,” the Pradhan of Sundargarh added.
“Moreover since last one year the principal has not conducted PTA meeting even after several requests made by the Pradhan of Sundergarh and Nilambur, for reasons unknown. Problems of students and parents remain unnoticed,” the Pradhan added.
It seems that due to lack of proper supervision and watch from the Directorate of Education some school managements have developed their own rules and regulations, which is now creating problems for others.
