Port Blair, Apr 22: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Labour Commissioner, A&N Administration to pay an amount of Rs.3000/- to the left out construction workers under A&N Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Fund who are about ten thousand in number by fulfilling the norms at this time of COVID-19 so that they can purchase ration for their livelihood.
He also requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to help the persons who were working as Preraks of Adult Education since April, 2017 to 2019 for two years by releasing their honorarium which they have not received yet. This payment will be great relief to them at this time of crisis of COVID-19 to purchase ration etc.
