Port Blair, Apr 19: Mr. K. Paramasivam, State Secretary (BJP) , Andaman Nicobar Islands has said that after the recent spike in number of Corona positive cases in South Andaman, there is a sense of insecurity among the islanders.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Mr. Paramasivam said that at this juncture there is need for regular conversation between the common man and the Administration.
“In any disaster, local AIR plays a vital role in disseminating information to the last man in the remotest corner of our islands. In view of this, it is humbly requested to instruct local AIR to start a live telephonic programme daily involving one senior officer of the administration or else involving the Nodal officer of COVID-19. This will help in disseminating the instructions of administration and knowing the genuine demands of the islanders. It will also help in keeping at bay the rumour mongers. Here I would like to inform you that during Tsunami, local AIR was instrumental in bridging the gap between administration and local people,” Mr. K. Paramasivam said in his letter.
