Port Blair, Mar 03: A major accident was averted today when a driver of a STS bus carrying artists of Lakshadweep, noticed brake-fail in his bus, while driving downhill in Machi-Line area. As such brake-fail while driving downhill may cause disaster, the driver, Mr. Rahuljeet S/o Mr. Inderjeet, 30 years, turned the bus towards a drain, because of which the bus came to a halt. However, this left as many as 11 artists out of 23, with minor injuries. The driver, Mr. Rahuljeet, a resident of Calicut, also suffered minor injuries. All injured people were taken to hospital immediately after the accident. People present at the spot lauded the presence of mind of the STS bus driver.
