Port Blair, Jan 24: A drawing and painting competition for school children was organised by Coast Guard Region ( A & N ) on 23 Jan 12 at Coast Guard Indoor sports Complex as part of celebration to commemorate 35th Raising Day of the India Coast Guard which falls on 01 Feb 12 . The President Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (A and N) Smt Jaishree Pande was the Chief Guest for the event. Inspector General KC Pande, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A & N) along with other senior Coast Guard Officers also graced the occasion with their presence. The event provided a unique opportunity to the children of various schools of all age groups to exhibit their creativity on canvas depicting CG chartered responsibility and role. About 200 budding and promising young talents from 21 schools of Port Blair participated in the event.
The event provided a forum to school children to display fine aestheticism through drawing and painting on canvas.
The winners were given away certificates and prizes by, the President Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (A & N).
In addition, as a token of appreciation and encouragement, participation certificates were also given to all children who participated in the event. A similar painting competition was also held at Hut Bay, wherein approx 150 school children from various schools of Little Andaman participated.
