Port Blair, Jan 23: On the birth Centenary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Party President R Mohan offered floral tribute to the photo of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the premises of BJP bhavan today while Mr. L Moorthy and Smti. Anusia Devi, the senior leaders, gave speeches on the life of Netaji.
“Netaji was the lion of Bengal whose contribution to free our Nation from the clutches of the British Empire, can not be overlooked,” Mohan said in his speech.
In the Indian history is there any reference where an Indian in pursuit of freedom of the country went to foreign countries to find means to fight the occupiers and eventually led an army, fought tooth and nail in adverse circumstances, defeated the enemies and entered the modtherland at Morang(Manipore) and hoisted the national flag. Fortune did not continue to favour and then he had to go back after the initial success. I do not know if there is any parallel anywhere in the world. How many Indians remember him and his achievements today ? Only a few and too few and those in the elderly group of people and not the present young India. Have we really tried to tell them about this man who once uttered ; Give me blood and I will give you freedom. His idealism is yet to be achieved so that the country becomes free all differences and unite into one nation. Two parts already departed after his departure due to wrong lines and policies adopted by the erstwhile leaders.Let this left out part fulfill his dreams and visions.Long live Netaji, Jay Hind.
