Port Blair, June 28: The CSIR-Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi has been entrusted an appeal for cooperation with the project entitled “Traffic and Transportation Studies for Port Blair City” by Andaman & Nicobar Islands Administration.
Various traffic and transportation surveys are being carried out to understand the traffic and travel characteristics of the people of Port Blair. Data collected through these surveys will be utilized for planning the traffic and transportation systems for both the present and future needs.
As a part of these surveys, the officers of CSIR-CRRI, New Delhi will approach citizens of the island for collecting the required travel and related socio-economic information. The interviewer, who may approach the citizens, has been engaged by this institute with proper identity card to collect necessary information.
The SP, South Andaman, Mr. SBS Tyagi has requested all citizens to cooperate with the interviewer and provide the traffic related and other socio-economic information about the travel made by them and their family members.
“The information provided would be used only for the purpose of the study and will be kept confidential. Cooperation extended in this regard would be highly appreciated,” the SP said in a press communication today.
