Port Blair, June 15: The present Governor of Mizoram and former Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman is scheduled to arrive Port Blair tomorrow on a four Day long visit.
Vakkom Purushothaman is believed to be the most feared, most loved and most successful Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, who has in his credit most of the present tourism projects in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Meanwhile, different sections of Andaman Society and various Associations have arranged programmes to honour the former Lt. Governor.
According to reports, Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman will stay in Andaman as State Guest and on the day of his arrival tomorrow, he will visit Guru Mandir of VIP road at around 5.00 pm. On 19th June he would attend a programme at Kerala Samajam of Port Blair.
The Mizoram Governor is also scheduled to visit Tourist hotspot, Havelock Island of Andaman and Nicobar Island on 17 June 2012.
Meanwhile, Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Union has arranged a grand reception in the honour of Mr. Vakkom Purushothaman on 18 June 2012 at Teylerabad Village of South Andaman.
Most of the Tourism Infrastructure in Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been created during the tenure of Mr. Purushothaman as Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 19 March 1993–18 March 1996.
