Port Blair, July 18: Two notorious persons repeatedly involved in crime related to frequenting and indulging in illegal activities inside the Jarawa Reserve Area on the Western Coast of Tirur, have been apprehended by the joint team of Police & AAJVS and have been booked separately under appropriate sections of law.
On receipt of intelligence that two persons namely Narayan Roy @ Sujoy S/o Shri Khokan Roy R/o Madhupur No.1, Diglipur now at Wandoor and Sanjay Sikder R/o Wandoor are clandestinely frequenting the Jarawa Reserve area of Tirur, a joint team comprising of police & AAJVS staff was pressed into action.
After sustained joint search operations conducted in the difficult terrains of the jungle and braving rough weather conditions, the team succeeded in tracing out and arresting Narayan Roy @ Sujoy from the Jarawa Reserve area on 16/07/2016 and he was produced before the Court from where he has been remanded to judicial custody. Similarly the another offender namely Sanjay Sikder @ Kaalu @ Langda (24) yrs S/o Shri Ravi Sikder R/o Wandoor was apprehended from the Jarawa Reserve area and action as per law is being taken against him.
