Port Blair, Apr 24: The Shatraj Vikas Sanghatan, Port Blair is conducting the 2nd 2012 Port Blair Open Chess Tournament on Sunday the 29th April, 2012 at Hotel TSG Emerald View, Phoenix Bay. Altogether 40 Nos. of prizes will be given to the players in category wise which includes Open category, for Boys & Girls age category viz, Under-19, 15, 11, 9 and 7 beside this Veteran and youngest player prizes are also included.
The Andaman Nicobar Chess Association will select the interested senior players from this tournament to represent the Andaman Nicobar in the forthcoming National Challengers (National B) Chess Tournament being held at Thirupathi, Andara Pradesh from 18/5/2012 to 30/5/2012.
“Those who are interested to take part in it are requested to register their name with an entry fee Rs. 100/- to the Reception of Hotel TSG Emerald View, Phoenix Bay from 26/4/2012 onwards and latest by 7.00 pm 28/04/2012. The 1st round of play will start at 9.00 AM sharp. All the players should be report to the venue at 8.30 AM,” a release from SVS said here today.
