Tapas Bala: Long wait for treatment

Port Blair, Apr 23: Sumathi Bala, a helpless mother is presently facing the most difficult time of her life. Every day she is watching her youngest son, Tapas Bala, dying a slow death.
Tapas is suffering from Cancer in tongue and due to lack of proper treatment the Cancer is now spreading and condition of Tapas is deteriorating day by day. At present Tapas is unable to talk and perform his daily works, severe pain and blood vomiting have made his life difficult. Its been nearly one year Tapas is waiting for proper treatment.
Sumathi Bala, the mother of Tapas works in a private shop and do not have enough money for the treatment of her son.
“I have no clue from where I will collect money for my son’s treatment. I have been almost begging for money and help from everybody but till now I got nothing. I have been told that to get some amount from PM relief fund, I need to wait for some month but my son’s treatment can’t wait,” the weeping mother added.
The disappointed mother is now planning to meet the Lt. Governor but for a poor lady it is hard to gather strength to approach top officials in Raj Niwas.
“I have made my mind to meet the Lt. Governor and request him to release of some amount for my son’s treatment as I can’t see my son dying every day. He needs urgent specialized treatment,” the mother added with tears in her eyes.
The Lt. Governor in many occasions in past have come forward to help needy patients of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, hopefully in this case too the Lt. Governor will announce some relief.
The local society of A & N Islands has also come forward in past for the relief of such poor patients. Cancer treatment is not cheap, even for admission the family requires Rs. 1.20 Lakhs immediately.
“I request Islanders to do something to save my son’s life,” the helpless mother cries for help.
