Port Blair, Apr 08: On it’s premier day, Andaman’s own short feature film ‘Naalaya Seidhi’ got overwhelming response from people living in Port Blair city. The short feature film was premiered at Dr. B R Ambedkar Auditorium of Port Blair today, where three especial shows were arranged for more than 1000 audiences (with tickets and passes) today. There were claps, cheers and whistles inside the hall as the film began.
The Tamil film, with English sub-titles, is all about some local youths who do not get job on time and indulge themselves in anti-social activities.
“We are overwhelmed to see the response of public. This has encouraged us. We have got good moral support from social media also,” SM Kumereshan, Director of the film told ‘Sheekha’ today. The film has been produced by Mr. SP Somasundaram.
“The film has been censored from Central Board of Film Certification, last month and was categorized as short feature film. Local artists Ruban and Guru have played the lead characters in the film, which doesn’t have any lead female artist,” said Kumereshan.
The editing and dubbing works of the feature film were carried out in Screenz forum studios of Chennai. Besides this short film, on social issues, Kumareshan have made two other short films Talai Magan and Urau Kalin Mozhi which are of five minutes and three minutes duration.
