Port Blair, Nov 13: Rotary club of Port Blair organised a movie show for the differently abled children about 34 inmates of old age home of Ferrargunj under Directorate of Social welfare, Port Blair. The children were shown movie “Happy New Year” at the Divyum Talkies at Prathrapur the lone cinema theater of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The children were so excited to see the movie and many of them said this is the first time they are seeing a movie at a theatre and said it is like children’s day for us said one of the kid. We loved it very much. The Child Development Project Officer Mrs. Irene Nicolas thanked the Rotary club of Port Blair and was present at the venue.
Dr. Dinesh, President Rotary Club of Port Blair, was also present to see the overall arrangements and he too watched the movie along with them and felt so nice to be with them during the show, and thanked Mr.L. Moorthy, Partner of Divyum Talkies for their kind gesture for arranging the special show free of cost with refreshments within a short notice for Rotary Club. Rotary Club had earlier conducted a Health camp and Dental camp along with Directorate of Health Services for the inmates of Old age home and differently abled children of Ferrargunj.
This type of outing helps to give them an enjoyable experience and will instill positive thoughts. Rtn. Rajesh Anand(Treasurer), Mrs. Komal Anand, Rtn. Kundan Mahajan, was also present and mingled with the differently abled children and inmates of old age home.
