Port Blair, 10 Nov: He was accompanied by Smti Sheela Singh, Ward Councillor and senior Officers of the Council. Further the team took a stock of footpath, garden lights, parks and parking place. They also inspected the site office situated there.
The EE(Works) have been instructed to take immediate necessary steps to repair the footpath as tiles fixed on footpath are damaged badly and the people visit during evening hours for walking find it very difficult to walk easily. Apart from that most of the tourists coming to these islands visit Jogger’s Park also in evening hours. Direction was also given to re-surface the Parking area.
The EE was also directed to develop the slope area near Jogger’s Park area into ‘Terrace Garden’. He was also instructed to maintain garden lights fixed there. Shri M.Arumugam, Chairperson, PBMC asked the senior officials present during the inspection to ensure the overall beautification of this area and issued directions to speed up all the above developmental works so that it should be completed in a time bound manner. The Sanitary Officer of the Council was directed to ensure proper cleanliness of the area and also asked to provide sufficient number of dust bins with some slogans like “Use Me”, “Green City – Clean City” “Hamara Bharat Swach Desh” etc.
