Mayabunder, Oct 31: It is reported that the people of Mayabunder and its nearby area are facing acute shortage of cooking gas cylinder since last two months. One of the residents of Mayabunder told the reporter that M/s CCS Mayabunder has issued cylinder last time on 19.09.2014 and there is only one chance of getting the same during the end of this week.
The officials of CCS informed that due to non availability of Cargo ship from Mainland for carrying the cooking gas the situation has become this bad.
It has been learnt that people of Mayabunder region are planning to organize agitation against the distributer. The Hotel / small tea shop owners are also not able to run their business for earning livelihood for themselves and their family members. General public can be seen running from pillar to post to get LPG Cylinders. The residents of Mayabunder and nearby area are now requesting the Chief Secretary to intervene into this matter.
