Port Blair, Oct.28: Under Reproductive Child Health (RCH-II) Programme, Directorate of Health Service in association with the UT Health Mission of A&N Islands has organized a “Two day out reach RCH Camp” at Campbell Bay on 27th and 28th Oct 2014 to conduct laparoscopic sterilization operation and to provide specialized services to needy mothers and children’s. The medical team from G.B. Panth Hospital consists of Dr. M.K. Saha, Consultant Gynecologist, Dr. S. Jadhav, Anesthetist, Dr. Ritu Singh, Pediatrician and Dr. H.M. Siddaraju, Deputy Director (FW) along with supporting staff Provided specialized services in the camp. A total of 69 Laparoscopic Tubectomy, 3 MTP & 1 IUP insertion has been done on 27th Oct 2014 by medical team. On 28th Oct 2014 the medical team has been referred to G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair for further investigation and treatment.
Earlier, during inaugural function of the Out Reach RCH camp at PHC Campbell Bay Dr. M. K. Saha, Consultant Gynaecologist explained the gathering that recpeated pregnancy and without proper space between children may lead to severe Anemia of pregnant women which is detrimental to life of both mother and child. He advised the gathering to adopt small family norms and to keep at least 3 year of space between two children for which eligible couple may adopt any one of family planning methods.
Dr. H. M. Siddaraju, Deputy Director (FW) has told the gathering that DHS is taking all possible steps to decrease IMR & MMR by encouraging institutional delivery and for adopting small family norms. He also explained in detailed about the govt. Schemes like JSY, JSSK, Toll Free-102 Ambulance Services, and incentives, provided for institutional delivery and adopting small family norms.
Mr.Rajesjh, Pradhan, Lakhmanpur told the gathering that one of their long pending demand has been full filled and he thanks A&N Administration and Director of Health Services for deputing medical team for conducing Laparoscopic sterilization and RCH camp at campball Bay. He also appealed the gathering to utilize the services of specialist provided in the camp.
Mrs. Roscill Ekka, Pradhan Govind Nagar appealed the gathering to adopt small family norms to give better educations to their children and to make their children a good citizen of India. She also urged that such RCH camp should be organised in Campbell Bay at least once in a 3 years.
At the end Dr. Jameela CMO I/C PHC Campbell Bay thanked PRI members of Campbell Bay ANMs, Anganwadi Wadi workers, ASHAs and General Public for providing their active co-operation to make the camp a great success.
