Port Blair, May 04: On May 03, 2014 Andaman Sheekha reported about a suicide committed by an Andaman Girl from Dairy Farm area, studying in Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering and Technology (SVCET) Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh on April 30, 2014.
Sadhna (name Changed), 4th year B-Tech, CIVIL Engineering, committed suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling at evening hours but her body was found only on the next day.
Andaman Sheekha traced out the Facebook account of Sadhna, which shows that she was depressed since a long time. Perhaps proper counseling could have saved her life. On April 23, 2014 she updated her status as “Feeling Alone” and on April 26, 2014 her last update says “ Feeling Depressed”.
On April 21, she wrote “Nvr beg sum1 2 love or b wid u, b”coz whn u do, u give dem d pwer 2 use n walk al ovr u. Whn sum1 truly loves u, deir actions will show n prove it 2 u, n u’ll nvr hve 2 convince or beg dem 2 love or b wid u.”
And the post of April 17 in Hindi, says it all “Ek din hum aapse itne dur ho jayenge, Ke aasmaan ke in taaro mein kahi kho jayenge, Aaj meri parwaah nahi aapko, Par dekhna ek din hadh se zyaada hum yaad aayenge…”
Now the question arises here is whether this was a case of one sided love or she was cheated. Was she mentally tortured and harassed to a level, which forced her to commit suicide? In any case it is always good to conduct a detailed investigation in this regard.
Meanwhile, only one Telugu Newspaper of Andhra had published the news with the photograph of the victim girl.
