Port Blair, May 04: Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A K Singh, has condoled the untimely death of Mr. Thomas Khusboo, an International football player of the Islands, who passed away at John Richardson Hospital, Car Nicobar on 03.05.2014.
The legendary footballer, Thomas Khusboo, was the first football player from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands who had represented India in the Indian Junior Football Team. He became a star footballer, when as the captain of the Under 17 football team, the Islands team won the final match of the Subrato Mukherjee Cup for the Islands at New Delhi in the year 1984.
The Lt Governor has conveyed his deep shock over the death of the legendary football player and expressed his deep condolences to the members of the bereaved family. He has also asked the Secretary (Sports) to ensure that welfare of the family is looked after.
