Port Blair, Mar 18: Hitting back on Administration, the Suryachakra Power Cooperation Limited has said that the behaviour of A & N Administration is demotivating all employees of SPCL, who have been giving prompt service since last eight to nine years.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Biji George, the Deputy General Manger of SPCL on Saturday said that the SPCL is running the Power Plant very successfully since last 8 to 9 years and that is the reason why Islanders did not suffered much of load shedding all these years. “We are trying hard to make DG Set 4 functional but the behaviour of A & N Administration is demotivating me and all my 45 workers,” the DGM added.
He said that since last four to five years SPCL is running short of funds and when SPCL requested the Administration for loan, instead of helping SPCL, the Administration started asking for clause for providing loan.
When asked that why SPCL is not approaching banks for loan, the DGM said that the SPCL have some pending amount and interest to pay to banks and so banks are not giving loan to SPCL.
“And ANIIDCO can’t pay us huge amount. Their loan amount is less, in lakhs. If the administration pays our due payment we can clear our all dues to the bank, and can ask for fresh loans,” he added.
When quested about why SPCL repaired DG set 4, when Administration had directed not to do so, the DGM said that the DG set had ran 20,000 hours extra, and because of that only the DG set 1 had got failed, we luckily that after checking the DG 4 set, we got many faults. 6 to 7 pistons were not working out of total 16 pistons. However, the DGM assured that the workers of SPCL are working hard to repair the DG set 4 by Monday.
