Port Blair, Mar 16: The Island Auto Association today demanded implementation of waiting charges in electronic meter fare for auto rickshaws.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary cum Chairman of State Transport Authority, A & N Islands, the President of Island Auto Association said that as there is no provision of waiting charges in electronic meters for which often disputes spark between passengers and auto-drivers.
“Most of the states and UTs have implemented the waiting charge in Auto –rickshaw’s electronic meters and same must be implemented in A & N Islands,” he said.
