
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 06: In continuation of the ongoing foundation-laying programme being conducted since on 05th March, at various locations, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, laid foundation stones at five locations namely Sonapahar, Ferrargunj Panchayat, Brindaban (05), Mathura (01), Mathura Junction and Kadakachang under Brindaban Gram Panchayat, Ferrargunj Tehsil for improvement and renovation of rural roads. These works have been sanctioned under the Central Road Fund (CRF) by the Government of India through the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, along with members of the respective Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti and Panchayat Pradhans, officials of APWD, commuters and residents of the concerned areas were present and witnessed the foundation-laying functions.
The commuters and local residents, particularly members of the Ranchi community who have been suffering for many years due to the lack of proper road connectivity, expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Member of Parliament during the foundation-laying programme. They felicitated him with garlands in appreciation of the initiative.
During the function, the MP assured the residents that other local issues such as water pipelines, electricity supply lines and the construction of remaining roads would also be taken up shortly by approaching the concerned authorities. Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, who accompanied the MP during the programme in his jurisdiction, also expressed his happiness over the developmental work being undertaken in the South Andaman area during his tenure and extended his heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble MP.
Mr. Azix, Zilla Parishad Member of the Brindaban Constituency, also expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble MP for providing CRF funds for the constituency, stating that the works would bring great relief to the commuters and residents of the area comes under the Brindaban Gram Panchayat.
