
Mayabunder, Mar 03: Former Pramukh of Mayabunder, Mr. Abdul Siddique, has expressed his sincere gratitude to the senior officials of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration following the announcement of the M.V. Sindhu ship service, describing it as a significant relief for the people of the region.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Siddique thanked the Chief Secretary, Dr. Chandrabhushan Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Shipping) Mr. Hemant Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman Mr. Sushant Padha, Director of Shipping Captain Vijay Kumar, and Deputy Director of Shipping Mr. Bipul Sarkar, along with all concerned administrative officers, for their support and efforts in restoring the much-needed vessel service.
He also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Mayabunder for their continued cooperation and support throughout the period when transportation challenges were being faced by the public.
Stating that the commencement of M.V. Sindhu/ MV Nalanda service is a major step forward, Mr. Siddique said the vessel’s operation would greatly benefit the people of Mayabunder and surrounding areas by improving transportation facilities and ensuring easier and more reliable travel arrangements. He noted that the service would provide much-needed convenience to passengers and help ease the hardships experienced earlier.
Mr. Siddique further acknowledged the role played by media persons and news channels in highlighting the difficulties faced by the public. He said the media’s consistent efforts in raising the voice of the people before the authorities contributed significantly to resolving the issue.
