
Mayabunder, Feb. 27, 2026: The meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for North & Middle Andaman District was held on Thursday at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The meeting was chaired by the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, who also serves as the Chairperson of the DISHA Committee.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner of North & Middle Andaman welcomed the Chairperson, committee members, and senior officers from various line departments. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing government schemes being implemented across the district.
During the session, officials presented detailed reports on the implementation status of various development programmes. The Committee reviewed both physical and financial progress and discussed inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth and effective execution of projects. Special emphasis was laid on timely completion of works and proper delivery of benefits to the public.
The Chairperson stressed the importance of close monitoring, transparency, and accountability in the implementation of schemes. Directions were issued to the concerned departments to address bottlenecks and ensure that projects are completed within stipulated timelines. The Chairperson also highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among departments to maximize the impact of developmental initiatives in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the Committee that all directions and recommendations made during the meeting would be implemented in a time-bound manner. He reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to ensuring efficient governance and effective service delivery to the residents of North & Middle Andaman.
