Rangat, Feb 26: Serious concern has been raised by pet owners and general public regarding the lack of staff quarters at the Rangat Veterinary Hospital premises. Due to the absence of residential quarters for doctors and veterinary staff, emergency animal cases during night hours are not being attended immediately, causing great distress to pet owners.
According to local residents, several staff quarters were available inside the hospital campus in earlier years. However, at present, all the quarters are in a completely dilapidated condition and have been unfit for stay for the past few years. As a result, no veterinary doctor or supporting staff is residing within the hospital premises.
Pet owners stated that during night-time emergencies, they are forced to call medical staff from their residences, which leads to delay in treatment of critical animal cases. In many situations, valuable time is lost before the veterinary doctor reaches the hospital.
The public strongly feels that if proper staff quarters are available inside the hospital campus, doctors and veterinary assistants can immediately attend to emergency cases without delay, thereby saving the lives of animals.
Residents and animal lovers of Rangat have demanded that the concerned authorities immediately take steps to reconstruct new staff quarters, Construct separate doctor quarters, Renovate or demolish old dilapidated buildings and to ensure ensure 24×7 emergency veterinary services.
The people of Rangat are urging the Administration to treat this matter on priority basis and allocate necessary funds for the construction of new residential quarters within the veterinary hospital premises to improve emergency animal healthcare services in the region.
