Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 18: Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram, widely regarded as one of the most renowned designers from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has once again brought pride to the islands after being felicitated at the Delhi University Literature Festival. The honour was presented by Dr. Rajni Abbi, Director, South Delhi Campus, at the Rugby Ground for designing the official logo of the Delhi University Literature Festival, which was held from 12 to 14 February 2026.
Often, the first element that captures public attention at any event is its logo, and the creative mind behind numerous prominent government and institutional emblems is Jag Jeevan Ram, who currently serves as an Administrative Officer at the ICMR Regional Medical Research Centre, Port Blair. Over the years, he has designed more than 100 official logos and insignias for international, national, and state-level government organisations entirely on a voluntary and pro bono basis, without receiving remuneration.
His notable works include the official logos of the Indo-Africa Defence Dialogue 2022, World Bicycle Day 2022, MILAN Naval Exercises 2014 and 2018 of the Indian Navy, the ASEAN-India Ministers’ Meeting 2016, Navy Day 2023, and the Army Day Parades of 2024 and 2025. He also contributed to the base design of the ₹75 commemorative coin released on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first hoisting of the National Flag at Port Blair.
Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram’s creative works have been utilised by multiple departments of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the Indian Navy, the Indian Army, Delhi Police, Puducherry Police, and the Union Territory administrations of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. In recognition of his dedication and service, he has been awarded the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s Commendation Certificate twice, in 2019 and 2020.
The literature festival featured a vibrant lineup of speakers and personalities from diverse fields including cinema, theatre, public policy, spirituality, and sports, who shared insights from their respective journeys. The event also witnessed the participation of noted personalities such as Shehzad Poonawalla, Ankur Warikoo, Hindol Sengupta, Chanchalapati Dasa, Chandrachur Ghose, and wrestler Sangram Singh. Their discussions reflected the central theme of the festival, “Nation First: Unity in Diversity,” celebrating India’s cultural and intellectual plurality.
During the function, Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Mr. Yogesh Singh and several other eminent dignitaries were also present, adding prestige to the occasion.
The felicitation of Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram at the prestigious festival highlighted not only his artistic excellence but also his continued commitment to public service through design, further strengthening the creative identity of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on national platforms.
