Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 21: Sri Vijaya Puram will witness a series of grand commemorative events from 23 to 25 January 2026 as the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, organizes Parakram Diwas 2026 to mark the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The celebrations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are being coordinated by the Anthropological Survey of India under the Ministry of Culture.
The inaugural function of Parakram Diwas 2026 will be held on 23 January 2026 at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram. The programme will feature cultural performances by artists of national repute along with a spectacular drone show. Entry to the stadium will be free for all, allowing the general public to actively participate in the celebrations.
On 24 January 2026, a national seminar on the visions and legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be organized at the auditorium of the Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre of the Anthropological Survey of India, Sri Vijaya Puram. Scholars, academicians, and experts from across the country are expected to take part in the deliberations.
Cultural and thematic activities will continue at the ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram, on 24 and 25 January 2026. These include a theatrical performance by the National School of Drama, folk performances coordinated by Zonal Cultural Centres, exhibitions on Netaji curated by national institutions, and immersive AR/VR and holographic presentations highlighting his life and contributions. Exhibitions of scroll paintings, books, personal belongings of Netaji, arts and crafts mela, and presentations showcasing India’s rich cultural traditions will also form part of the programme.
In addition, a month-long exhibition will be inaugurated at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep starting from 24 January 2026. This exhibition will focus on the life, ideology, and legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, including a model exhibit of the INA Headquarters at Moirang, Manipur, presented by national institutions.
The celebrations aim to inspire patriotism and commemorate the indomitable spirit, courage, and vision of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The organizers have appealed to the people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to participate in large numbers and make Parakram Diwas 2026 a memorable national tribute.
