Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 10: The State Vice President of Hindu Rashtra Shakti, Mr. Rajesh Mazumdar, has submitted a representation to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, seeking urgent intervention to address the issue of irregular LPG supply and alleged black marketing of cylinders in Little Andaman.
In his letter, Mr. Mazumdar highlighted that residents are facing serious inconvenience due to delayed and inconsistent LPG refills, particularly during the festive season. Reports have also surfaced of cylinders being sold at inflated prices in the local market, causing distress to common households.
He alleged that certain authorized distributors are diverting LPG supplies, resulting in scarcity for genuine consumers. Such practices, he stated, not only violate consumer rights but also promote unfair trade in remote island areas.
Mr. Mazumdar urged the Administration to conduct strict monitoring and regular inspections of LPG distribution systems to prevent black marketing and ensure timely delivery to households at government-approved rates. He also recommended stringent penalties against those found involved in unlawful activities.
An attachment showing evidence of LPG delivery was also enclosed for the Administration’s reference.
