
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 10: As part of the observance of World Mental Health Day, the Block Project Office, Diglipur, under Inclusive Education, Samagra Shiksha, organized an Awareness Programme at PM SHRI GMSSS Sitanagar to promote mental health awareness among students, teachers, and the community.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by parents, teachers, and resource persons, symbolizing the beginning of an enlightening session on mental well-being. The event aimed to create awareness among parents, teachers, students, SMC/SMDC members, Anganwadi workers, and other stakeholders about the “Mental Health matters: Building Awareness and support for all”. A total of 52 participants actively took part in the event, which was structured into three informative sessions:
Session I: Ms. Rakhi Kabiraj, BRP (CwSN), BPO Diglipur, delivered a detailed presentation on Understanding Mental Health, Common Disorders, and the government’s mental health helpline initiative Tele-MANAS.
Session II: Mr. Biswajit Das, Special Educator, BPO Diglipur, highlighted the Impact of Stress and Lifestyle on Mental Well-being, emphasizing the importance of positive habits and emotional balance.
Session III: Ms. N. Riya Nandan, PSRT, DEO Diglipur, addressed the gathering on Mental Health in Children and Adolescents, stressing the need for timely support, empathy, and open communication between educators and students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and resource persons. The event reaffirmed the commitment towards promoting Inclusive Education and fostering a supportive environment for mental well-being across schools in Diglipur.
