Sri Vijayapuram, July 2:The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Administration has announced the schedule for the revision of electoral rolls for the Gram Sabha constituencies across the Union Territory. As per the directive of the Election Commission (UTs), the electoral rolls will be updated with reference to January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date, based on the rolls published by the Election Commission of India in January 2025.
The revision process will follow a detailed schedule:
• Preparation of Draft Rolls: July 7 to July 14, 2025
• Printing of Draft Rolls: July 15 to July 17, 2025
• Publication of Draft Rolls: July 18, 2025
• Filing Suggestions and Objections: July 19 to August 2, 2025
• Disposal of Objections: August 4 to August 7, 2025
• Preparation & Printing of Final Rolls: August 8 to August 11, 2025
• Final Publication: August 12, 2025
Claims and objections during the revision period can be submitted to the designated officers appointed by the respective Tehsildars at notified locations.
Arjun Sharma, IAS, Director of Panchayats and Municipal Elections and Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), urged all eligible residents to make use of this opportunity to ensure their names are correctly included or updated in the electoral rolls.
