Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 7: Horticulture has emerged as a potential agriculture in accelerating the growth and economy. For holistic development of Horticulture, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme- Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) is being implemented by the High Value Agriculture Development Agency (HVADA) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture.
Under, NHM and CDB Schemes, financial assistance are extended for area expansion of crops viz. Fruits, Spices, Flowers, Vegetables Hybrid and other components like Bee Keeping, Horticulture Mechanization. For Rejuvenation & Replanting of Coconut Gardens, the subsidies can also be availed under CDB Schemes.

In this context, the next Technical Committee Meeting of HVADA for sanctioning of subsidies for various schemes of NHM & CDB will be held in the last week of February, 2025. Therefore, the project implementing beneficiaries/farmers can immediately approach the nearest Agriculture Sub-Depot/Zonal Office for submission of applications latest by 15th February, 2025 for availing subsidies by this financial year.
The Department has urged the farmers of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to avail the benefit of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme –MIDH by approaching the Zonal Officers of the Department and Extension Staff posted in their respective jurisdiction for receipt of application and all other guidance in availing the subsidies.
